"I love Holly. Not because she is brilliant, supportive, vibrant and deeply devoted to her work, though she is all that and more. I love her because she is helping me to change."

Dr. Holly Talks…

Will: Dr. Hein, I think I have a problem.

Dr. Holly: What’s up?

Will: I can’t stop being self-destructive. When I drink, I drink too much. When I stop drinking, I want to shop or gamble or have sex. Whatever I do, I can’t get enough.

Dr. Holly: We’re all capable of becoming addicted. If your life is limited and unfulfilled, there is nothing that will satisfy you externally. You can go down those roads of addiction, but you will never find what you are truly looking for. Do the necessary work to heal yourself, and you will feel complete.

Will: I don’t want to go to rehab.

Dr Holly: William, if you had another disease, like cancer, would you refuse to get the help necessary?

Will: No, but if the help includes God, I’m not interested. I lost that long ago.

Dr. Holly: It isn’t about finding God, although that may be one answer. It is about filling the space within. Filling that hole that every human being has at times. Right now, you use your addictions. If you can find internal avenues to fill the space, then you’ll no longer seek externally to be content. You must find comfort and peace within ...and that takes hard work.
